What is the Luxy Hair Ponytail?

The Luxy Hair Ponytail Extension is our new clip-in ponytail that is made from 100% remy human hair. It comes with a velcro base, which adheres together to secure the ponytail. It has a wrap strand of hair that is used to wrap around the base with 2 matching bobby pins (which are included) to ensure a seamless blend. It is also secured with 3-prong combs on the weft (a 5-prong comb in the middle and two 2-prong combs at either side) for a secure hold. It comes in either 16 or 20-inches.

Is the Luxy Hair Ponytail Extension suitable for all hair textures and types?

The Luxy Hair Ponytail is suitable for all hair textures! Please ensure your hair can be placed into a sturdy bun or ponytail for the extension to be anchored to. The Pony may be less secure or feel heavy when applied to very thin hair types.

Does the Luxy Hair Ponytail Extension come with a tester swatch to see the color?

We understand that it can be hard determining your perfect Luxy color match from a computer screen and we at Luxy Hair want your purchase to be risk and anxiety-free. This is why we designed our packaging to come with a tester swatch. You can use this swatch to determine if the shade is a good match.

If it isn’t an ideal match, we are more than happy to accommodate a return or exchange as long as the main compartment of your Luxy box has not been opened and the golden security seals have not been tampered with.

How long does my hair need to be to wear the Luxy Hair Ponytail Extension?

Your hair should be long enough to tie into a bun or ponytail (either low, medium, or high). The most important thing to keep in mind is that there should be a bun or an existing ponytail that the Luxy Hair Ponytail Extension can attach to.

What does the Luxy Hair Ponytail Extension come with?

It comes with a tester swatch to test the color prior to committing to the Luxy Hair Ponytail Extension, 2 bobby pins (black, brown or blonde - pre-matched to the fabric base of the Ponytail) and a circular pink storage box so that you can store it away when not in use.

How long does the Luxy Hair Ponytail Extension take to apply?

It will take less than 5 minutes to apply, once you have gotten the hang of application!

How does the Luxy Hair Ponytail Extension secure?

The Luxy Hair Ponytail Extension comes with a 5-prong comb in the middle and two 2-prong combs at either side for a secure hold. You may slide the prongs underneath your hair elastic to hold the ponytail in place. There is also an 8 cm velcro strap, which adheres together to secure the ponytail. Finally, a long strand of hair is wrapped around the base with 2 matching bobby pins provided to secure in place (exclusive to Luxy Hair).

What lengths do the Ponies come in?

Luxy Hair Ponytail Extensions are offered in both 16 & 20 inches. They slightly taper towards the ends to ensure a natural look.

How long will the Luxy Hair Ponytail Extension be on me?

In order to determine how long the Ponytail Extension will be on you, we recommend measuring the finished length of the Ponytail (14", 16", 18", or 20") down from the crown of your head (or where you will be tying your hair up). This will give you an idea of where the ponytail extension will fall in you. Remember, the lower the pony, the longer it will be.

Can I have the Luxy Hair Ponytail Extension cut?

Yes! Although Luxy Hair Ponytail Extensions come in 16" & 20" lengths, you are welcome to have it trimmed to the length of your choice by a professional hair stylist since it is made from 100% remy human hair.

What is the lifespan of a Luxy Hair Ponytail?

The lifespan of Luxies can range anywhere between 3-6 months to a year or longer, depending on the general care they receive and how often they are worn. Remember, the more you wash and heat style your extensions, the shorter their lifespan will be, so try to keep washing and using products on your extensions to a minimum.

The important thing to note is that your hair extensions don’t have a natural hydration source like your own hair does so keeping them moisturized and reducing dryness is crucial to prolonging their lifespan. Will the Ponytail Extension give me a headache?

As with all hair extensions, if they are not applied correctly, you may risk the clips tugging on your natural hair uncomfortably. We designed our Luxy Hair Ponytail to be easy to apply while remaining comfortable and secure. It attaches to your own ponytail using three prongs/combs and a velcro wrap around strap. Once the ponytail is clipped onto your natural ponytail, you will wrap the velcro sections around your ponytail to secure it. We recommend trying different ponytail hairstyles (low, medium, high) to find the best fit for you!

Can I apply heat on the Straight Ponytail Extension?

Yes it can be straightened, blow-dried, styled and curled since it is made from 100% remy human hair. In order to preserve and extend the lifespan of your Luxy Hair Ponytail Extension, we suggest to always use a heat protectant spray prior to heat styling. Additionally, we recommend only using a low heat setting of 120C/250F, as anything higher runs the risk of damaging the hair.

Are there any different care instructions for the Straight Ponytail Extension? How often should I wash it?

No, the care instructions are the same as for our Clip-In and Halo hair extensions. We recommend checking out this blog post for all of our tips on how to properly care for your extensions. As a general rule of thumb, the less you wash your extensions the longer they will last you.

You can use your best judgment on how often to wash your Ponytail Extension. If you feel like it’s becoming increasingly difficult to style, this is likely a sign that there is product build-up and it will need to be washed.

Can I dye/tone/bleach the Straight Ponytail Extension?

Since it is made of 100% remy human hair, it can be colored a darker shade by a professional hair colorist. We do not recommend getting it bleached, as bleaching is a harmful process that will alter the quality and integrity of your set. What is the Clip-In Curly Ponytail Extension?

You asked, we listened. Introducing Luxy Hair’s new Clip-In Curly Ponytail Extension - a quick and low maintenance way to achieve a full, voluminous & curly ponytail without the need to bring out the curling iron. It is a 100% remy human hair ponytail that features a 2C/3A curl pattern.

It comes with a velcro base, which adheres together to secure the ponytail. Also, it has a long strand of hair that is used to wrap around the base with 2 matching bobby pins (which are included) to ensure a seamless blend. It comes in 16 and 20-inches.

The 100% remy human hair that is used for the Luxy Hair Clip-In Ponytail Extension is straight, however, due to how curly hair experiences shrinkage (as curled hair is ‘shorter’ than straight hair) the finished length will shorter. The length of the untreated hair is 16" and 20”, the length of the Curly Ponytail is 14" and 18”.

What type of curl pattern does the Curly Clip-In Ponytail Extension have?

The Luxy Hair Curly Clip-In Ponytail has a 2C/3A curl pattern.

Can I straighten, curl or blow dry the Clip-In Curly Ponytail Extension?

To preserve the curl pattern of your Curly Ponytail Extension, we don’t recommend washing, straightening, curling or blow-drying it, as this will cause the curl pattern to loosen over time. 

Does my hair need to be curly to wear the Luxy Hair Curly Clip-In Ponytail Extension?

No, your hair doesn’t need to be curly in order to wear the Luxy Hair Curly Clip-In Ponytail Extension. You can have fun with it to easily switch up your look! 

Are there any different care instructions for the Clip-In Curly Ponytail Extension?

Yes, unlike our straight Clip-In Ponytail Extension, the care instructions are different in order to preserve the curl pattern of your ponytail. We don’t recommend dyeing/toning, using water-based products, washing or heat styling (such as straightening, blow-drying or curling). In addition, we recommend only using a wide-tooth comb or your hands to brush through the ponytail.

Can I wash the Clip-In Curly Ponytail Extension?

To preserve the curl pattern of your Curly Ponytail Extension, we don’t recommend washing, straightening, curling or blow-drying it as this will cause the curl pattern to loosen over time.

Why does the Clip-In Curly Ponytail Extension come in select shades?

Due to the nature of how the curl pattern is achieved, there were some inconsistencies in color. We’re committed to always bringing you high-quality products so we felt the best decision was to launch the Luxy Hair Clip-In Curly Ponytail Extension in the following 20 colors. Thank you for your understanding!

Can I use the Loop Hair Extensions Brush on the Clip-In Curly Ponytail Extension?

While the Loop Hair Extensions Brush is great for all hair extensions, we don’t recommend it for the Clip-In Curly Ponytail Extension. Instead, we recommend gently using your fingers or a wide-toothed comb to remove tangles, starting from the bottom and working your way to the top in order to limit frizz and to ensure the curl pattern doesn’t loosen.

Can I dye/tone/bleach the Clip-In Curly Ponytail Extension?

To preserve the curl pattern of your Curly Ponytail Extension, we don’t recommend washing, dyeing, toning or bleaching it, as this will cause the curl pattern to loosen.
