How do I choose the right length?

- Our Luxy Hair clip-in extensions come in many different lengths, such as 12", 16", 20" and 24"
- To measure how long a Luxy set may be on you, measure down from about 1 inch above your ear
- The set should be the same length or longer than your natural hair to blend in seamlessly
How long does my hair need to be?
Clip-Ins
As long as your hair is at least 6-7 inches long, which is around shoulder length, clip-in hair extensions will blend. The reason why this is the recommended length is that your hair needs to be long enough in order for the clips to secure to your hair sturdily, and to ensure that the clips do not show through your short hair.
Halo
Halo extensions are best for those who have below shoulder length hair and have a thin or medium hair type. We do not recommend the Halo extensions for those with short hair, very thick hair, or bluntly-cut hair, as you will need more wefts and hair to create a seamless blend.
Ponytail Extension
Your hair should be long enough to tie into a bun or ponytail (either low, medium, or high). The most important thing to keep in mind is that there should be a bun or an existing ponytail that the Luxy Hair Ponytail Extension can attach to. The Ponytail may be less secure or feel heavy when applied to very thin hair types.
Why do they look longer on some people and shorter on others?
Great question! This is because Luxy Hair extensions will appear different in length on every person, as we all have different torso lengths. If you have a longer torso or are quite tall, Luxies will appear shorter on you. If you are more petite or have a shorter torso, Luxies will appear longer on you.
How long will Luxy Hair extensions be on me?
In order to determine how long your Clip-Ins will be on you, we recommend measuring either 12, 16, 20 or 24 inches down from the top of your ear with a measuring tape, as most wefts will be applied around the crown of your head. For Halo® hair extensions, please measure from the crown of your head as the main weft will be applied here.
What if Luxy Hair extensions are too long on me?
Since Luxies are made of 100% remy human hair, they can be cut or trimmed to any desired length by an experienced hair stylist if you are interested in a shorter length. If you decide to get them cut, we recommend having them already clipped into your hair during the haircut. We also recommend coming up with a numbering system for the wefts, so that you know exactly where each weft is supposed to be clipped in for the future uses.
